I'm too hard on her. I'm not hard enough.
I'm going to sell her to the circus. I'm going to run away to the circus.
I should spend more time with her...she's feeling neglected. I should spend less time with her...she's being coddled.
For the record, the circus one got the most air time on my little brain waves.
But WHO CARES?! She's BACK! My sweet little girl who says things like, "I want to hold your hand" and "can you 'cratch my back" and "I want to give you a cuddle." I've missed her so.
We spent some fun tower-crashing time together this morning in celebration.
Now if I only I could figure out an expedited way to fly her back home the next time she visits Grumpland...

Episodes like this are a good way to prepare you for the teen years. My boss use to say that the aliens kidnapped his sweet daughter at 13 and brought her back at 16. Oy!! (And by the way, they don't call them the "terrible two's" for nothing sweetie!!)
Oh, my daughter visits their sometimes. Maybe they have met!!

Two weeks of Grumpland!! Boo Hoo for you. Have you meet your cousin Aaron. HE IS the king of this land you call GRUMP! And you know it's true! He'll come and visit us now and then but he spends most of his time in the land of GRUMP!
I wish I could tell you that Grumpland goes away forever but it doesn't. I actually revisits and as they get older (and learn to vocalized a bit more) it gets a little trickier to navigate! My suggestion: Try one of those fun things that you are doing today with her. You start it and see if she will join in the fun and forget about Grumpland. Sometimes it works here and sometimes I'm an idiot on the floor playing by herself (Jacob still joins me!). Also you are not hard on her, you do not coddle or neglect her, you are a very good mama and you need to hear that in your head more often! If there is a mama out there who hasn't said those things in her head, I want to meet her!
We've had our fair share of visits to grumpland ourselves. Glad Sarah has returned though.

I keep telling myself that the grumpies are worth it because the cuddle time is that much better afterward.
I think I was the Queen of Grumpland when I was little... years 7-9. A friend once gave Carebear partyfavors and I got Grumpy. He was my fave, for sure, but her mom later told my mom that she (the mom) couldn't have NOT given me that one - oh, brother.

My daughter was such a sweet baby, by far my easiest... Then she turned 1 & flipped her switch! I think she cried the entire year, no joke! I'm still not sure my sweet little thing will ever return. I love her dearly, but man-o-man!
