bath time punk

Oh the things we can do with Sarah's hair! After bath time we have great fun giving her new and innovative hairstyles. She can perfectly replicate Dumb and Dumber hair, k.d. lang hair, Billy Idol hair, and many more. Samantha insists I'm missing out on all the fun of having a bald baby but I totally disagree (I'm sure JJ would agree with me!). Nothing is more fun than putting a barrette in the hair of your two week old daughter (yes, it's been done - but only when she was wearing BDUs to match her daddy - everyone needed to know she was a girl!) We don't know where her crazy hair came from but we LOVE it. It's getting longer and lighter everyday which is sad...pretty soon she'll look like a totally different baby. We're enjoying her just the way she is right now and we're really loving that hair!

loving the weekends

We just put Sarah to bed and are finishing out a wonderful weekend with her. She's becoming such a big girl...going into her crib at night when she's still calm and happy and falling asleep without any tears most of the time (nap time is a different story!) We spent a lot of time this weekend reflecting on our last three months with her and marveling at the gift she is. She's such a happy girl...starting to giggle, loving her smiles, and seeking out eye contact. This morning in sunday school she kept staring at other people in the class and waiting for them to look at her. If they did, she'd reward them with a huge, full-face grin. It was hard to focus on the lesson with her antics! After church we had to stay for a congregational meeting which was pretty long and boring. Sarah did wonderfully until her daddy went up to the podium to speak - then she wanted to talk to him from the back of the sanctuary. We left soon after that!

two more days until Grandma comes...we're counting down!

and speaking of bedtime sweetness...

coffee with angels

The house is quiet! Brent took Sarah for their weekly Saturday morning coffee ritual with the other daddy/baby pairs. It's the only time all week that I have the house to myself. I usually look forward to it and then once it's here I find myself watching longingly as they walk out the door and then twiddling my thumbs until they get back. Life isn't as fun without the people you love the most around! Now that I'm a "blogger" (sigh...still can't believe it...don't make fun Samantha) I'll just have to keep you all posted while they're gone. Here's a picture of the pigbear in the outfit her Daddy dressed her in this morning. He thinks she looks like a little old grandma all dressed up in her jogging suit...

I had a shopping accident last week and splurged on new outfits for Sarah. 3-6 month outfits! Very sad. In fact, today is her 3 month birthday. Hard to believe that exactly 3 months ago I was holding the most beautiful, squashiest little bundle I'd ever seen. Where does the time go? Before we know it, she'll be turning one...which reminds me...I also bought her an outfit for her first birthday. I know, I'm ridiculous. But it was on sale and PERFECT; how could I resist?

I guess I should go find something to do with myself until my babies get home. I'll leave you with a couple of pictures from last week's coffee outing (Brent calls it Coffee with Angels, stolen from the title of a David Bailey album - highly recommended if you've never heard him before)...

some credit

for the "certain handsome family member" who shall remain nameless...here's the credit...

Sarah says: "I love my Aunt Parmy and Uncle Tory!"

indecision

This is what happens when Sarah sleeps too long...mommy can't make up her mind about where to post her blog! After being on myspace for 10 minutes and already having a "friend" attached to my blog that I didn't know, I figured I better find a better spot. Here I am. We'll see how long I stay.

So, the pigbear...

Right after this picture was snapped by daddy she went into a raging fit and we couldn't decide whether she looked like a cute, pink pig or a raging, hungry bear - hence, pigbear.

Princess Pigbear more appropriately.

As the current sole heir to RF Cobb Rental properties, she must be a princess.
