So. You guys rock. I'm going to have to reread the comments from the last post over and over again just to absorb everything that's there. And if you haven't checked it out yet, do. And add to it. I'm thinking I'll add a permanent link in the sidebar for my own reference. I've already implemented a few of the suggestions including the canvas tote bags (picked those up at the commissary yesterday...and used them!) and subscribing to greendimes.com (thanks Jennifer and Aunt Lu!). I'm gonna have to think on the "if it's yellow let it mellow" rule but mainly because going there would mean admitting defeat to and agreement with my brother-in-law which I really, really hate to do. Really. It's good in theory but, Uncle T, I still stand by the belief that doing so in the middle of the night with the toilet seat up and other people in the house is just a little more splashage than I'm comfortable with. But I digress.
You guys have given me a lot to think about! I've gotten several emails about cloth diapering (hooray!) so I think I'll do a detailed post this weekend about how we do ours, what kind we have, etc. I'm thinking of throwing in a little video tutorial too just for kicks. I'd love it if some other cloth diapering mamas and daddies would like to join me too with weekend posts since many us use different brands and slightly different systems. Megan, Amy, Parmy, Marian, and anyone else, are you up for it? Nothing fancy, just a little info about your system and what you like/don't like about your brand and such. Only if you want to!
Okay, that's enough saving of the earth for one day. Sheesh. Let's lighten things up around here.
My baby is threatening to grow up! Two days ago he started to roll over and then last night he went and SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT. We're talking 7pm to 6:15 am people! Whatever will I do with him if he actually grows up on me? I spend a lot of evenings holding him close and whispering into his hear (very, very softly so Brent won't hear me) about how one day he'll kiss some other girl and love her more than me and she'll chastise him for never calling his mom and I'll be sitting at home thinking of him every second and wondering how and when it happened that I stopped being his favorite. Stupid boys. Brent is sure to read this and remind me that he's not like that and that he still loves his mama and blah, blah, blah and that's all true but I'm just sure that Ephraim will grow up and be one of those men that never comes home and I'll just have to buy a lot of cats. Ugh. I hate cats (sorry, but I kind of do).
Ephraim, enough with the growing already. You're giving me grey hair.

He's so striking--those eyes are amazing! I'd LOVE if you did a cloth diapering post. I really wanted to do it a bit ago, but when I looked into it, I realized (at least G diapers) have to be washed and rewashed 3 times?! Um...I live in an apartment right now, so that's not an option. Curious if all the cloth diapering options are like that. :)

Oh, those lips look so kissable! I can see why you would want to hold him all the time. I have a daughter who will be two in May and I feel the same way about not wanting her to grow up. We have another daughter due in June and I want to keep her little forever!
He's so cute. And very "boy" looking. I totally relate to the attitude that he will leave you some day. I went through that with my only baby boy after having 2 previous baby girls and never once having the same thoughts about them. Boys have that special place in their mommies hearts that make you never want to let go or let them get bigger.
This brought tears to my eyes. I have thought those same thoughts every day of Jacob's life. I am right there with you. But I won't do cats 'cause I hate 'em. There will be no cats in my house! I will work on a diapering blog for the weekend. I think it is a good idea. I would love to know what you did to get him to sleep so good. Jacob is still not sleeping through the night and we are a little stressed over here. Not sure what to do (tough love not working). Girls slept through the night at 8 weeks so this is completley new for us.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a post on cloth diaper! My little guy is 15mo but I am ready and willing to switch but don't know where to start. I am totally clueless in this department being my other two were in disposables. You are awesome and inspiring!

My boys are 17 and 12 and letting them grow up is soooo hard - and I LOVE cats!! Tyler says our cats will likely be around long after they've both moved out. (It's because they're GIRL CATS and they won't leave me for another woman...)

No, No, No! Tell me that my boys won't find another lady. :) I sometimes say that my guys say, "Whatta woman!" about me! And then I sing that old 70s/80s - "You're my Lady" or "More than a woman!" This post made me laugh! And - he is just amazingly sweet, juicy and beautiful!!!!!!!!

I am very interested in reading the info you ladies gather about cloth diapering. I've wanted to find out more. We do not do it now and my daughter will be two in May. I'm hoping to do it for our next baby when one comes along.
Those Pics are great! My little girl is just a few days older than your little guy and is doing the same thing, I would love to get some similar pics, I'm still learning how to do this whole photography thing. What kind of lens did you use. I have a 50mm 1.4 but i seem to have a hard time focusing when i am that close, it seems i always end up with her nose or mouth in focus and the rest of her just a bit blurry. Any tips??? Would love your help.

They do grow up way to quickly - I completely know what you're talking about b/c I think the same things about Jackson. He started rolling over and for the past several weeks has been sleeping on his tummy. Very scary to me at first, but whatever works for him, works for me :-D
