Sarah loves Pez, I love Craig's List

My Aunt Lori has always been good at firsts. Took me to get my first bra. Painted my fingernails for the first time (man was my mom MAD!). Showed me my first movie rated above a "G". When I first found out I was pregnant with Sarah she made sure she was the first to give her a stuffed animal - the one that later became her beloved "Tubby Hobokin".

Of course, this visit was no exception. Sarah was introduced to the world of Pez. In typical Aunt Lu fashion she got the idea in her head, announced "I want to get Sarah a Pez" and had my mom marching out the door to the grocery store within minutes.

The experience was certainly not a disappointment...

Changing gears.

Be forewarned, I'm about to show you a terrible photo. If you come here for good photography, look away. But I'm SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS...

SARAH'S NEW KITCHEN!!!

Eversince Jennie posted a comment last month about finding the play kitchen I wanted on New Hampshire's Craig's List I've been stalking the place. While in Nashville I found this one for $30.00 (!!!) and I almost peed my pregnant pants. I know I was supposed to wait and give it to her for her birthday but hiding two items this large in a house that's about as big as my thumb just wasn't happening.

Moral of the story: if you're not familiar with Craig's List then check it out! Just stay away from the personal section...looks a little scary!

(p.s. I think we're gonna hit 100,000 today!)

I have to apologize - I've been a "lurker" of your blog for quite some time...I love your photography and aspire to get photos of my daughter halfway as good as yours. So when you say to avert your eyes from the bad photo - I'm like, "that's what all my photos look like!" Anyway, I love seeing all of Sarah's experiences - my daughter is 2 months younger and you give me lots of ideas for my Zoe. Seriously never thought of a play kitchen until now! Thanks for sharing!

Hmmmm...I just might have to scope out Craigs List. My hubby has used it for some stuff but I hadn't thought about it for toys! Maybe I will find the red Maclaren Triumph I've been wanting...thanks for the tip! Congrats on the fabulous score in Nashville for Pi'bear and for hitting 100,000 today! :)

Hey Erin -

Quick clarification - did you find that kitchen set in a STORE in Nashville or on Craig's List from someone in Nashville? If in a store, please do share that info! Christmas is right around the corner!! Thanks!

Love the pics. It's a good thing that you're pregnant because I regretfully have to say that Sarah is losing her baby look. Another stage to go through. Love, Mama JO

Jessica, awesome Pez tip...thanks!

Kristina, I found the kitchen used on Craigs List in Nashville. I usually check all the lists for all the cities where I have remotely close relatives, figuring I could drive to pick it up and see family too. (or, better yet, have them bring it to me!) I happened to be checking the Nashville site while I was there this weekend so it worked out perfectly.

Thanks for the comment, MamaJo. It's fun to see you on here!

Thanks for sharing Sarah she really does remind me of you oh so many years ago. Give her a big kiss for me and tell her I'll have more Pez the next time I see her.

I LOVE the kitchen! That is too cute! I also love Craig's list but the nearest city for us is 1.5 hours away so it isn't perfect for us, but we have still bought some big items on it!
