on why it never hurts to ask

We're in our new house (hooray!) and beginning the long, laborious process of digging out from under all the boxes. I've been MIA for a few days because the cable company had originally said they couldn't get our service (meaning cable, internet AND phone) switched over until the 13th. I thought Brent might keel over and die when I told him that since it would mean missing who knows how many college football games. I wasn't really sure how I was going to handle the whole thing either. Luddites we are not.

Now I realize that cable companies are not known for their stellar customer service but I've got to give a shout out to ours (KNOLOGY, BABY!) because when I called back last week to ask if I could get on a waiting list in case there were any cancellations between now and our appointment they politely said they would make note of that and then THEY CALLED YESTERDAY! I was totally floored. Seriouly, customer service from a cable company? Yes, my friends, it's true. Granted the guy was here for five hours yesterday and our long distance still doesn't work today but we ended up only missing one Auburn game and one edition of Big Brother. I'll take it!

And that is why it never hurts to ask (sweetly, I might add, and throwing in as many "I appreciate that"s as you can)

So now, a few shots of that Pi'bear playing "Rosie" in our new front yard.

would you check out the hair on this child...it's a mess!

Are you kidding? She could be in a shampoo ad! Oh wait, modeling? Sooo last year :)

I totally took your "never hurts to ask for forgiveness" advice with both the USAA and E470 folks - works like a charm!

Before I even got to your comment about her hair, I couldn't believe it! It has gotten so long! She looks so grown up!! I'm not even going to recognize her next week. And she shouldn't be playing Rosie without her BFF.

Yes, Rosie is a lonely game these days. :(

Beautiful photos. I love the warmth in them. My photos with green background often end up too cool. What's your secret?

Beautiful, just beautiful. That color. And it's cut so perfectly. Oh, yeah, Pi'Bears hair is nice, too.

What's wrong with her hair? It looks so full. Good luck moving in and unpacking.

Just wait until you have your little boy and have to make monthly trips for haircuts to keep it from growing that long! :) Congrats on your new home! Hope all the unpacking is going well!

Sure, the hair is great but look at that grass! Wow. We haven't seen anything that green in Indiana all summer! Her hair looks very strawberry against it. So cute!

Her hair is gorgeous. Love it. And the last two pics are awesome. Need to make room in the new house for those. =)

Thanks you guys! Shelley, it's all about the color balance tool in PS. (well, there's always CWB on your camera but I'm usually not on the ball like that when I'm taking pics of the Pigbear). I had to add quite a bit of yellow and red to get the color right here. Play around with it until you like the results!

A mess?! I think she has the best hair. It's so thick and curly in the back. I love it.

Glad you guys have your cable hooked up because BB's on tonight, double eviction they said on Tuesday (whatever that means). Either two tonight or just two this week I was unclear.

I was just wondering what lens you're using in the last picture?
